    • Choosing a Graduate School: Dr. Quinetta Shelby advised students on the graduate school application process, including how to choose a graduate school and research advisor
    • Working for the Government: Josh Neukom from the EPA spoke about the pros and cons of government employment
    • Working in Industry: Dr. Jim Koziarz, Vice-president, Abbott laboratories, (retired) spoke about industrial employment in the private sector
    • Nontraditional Careers: Dr. Matt Dintzner talked about atypical careers for which a chemistry degree would be an asset, including a discussion of books and other information (e.g., the departmental web site) students can use to explore these options.
    • Career Center Resources: Ed Childs highlighted the ways that the Career Center can assist students in gaining employment experience in chemistry-related fields. The Career Center can also help students prepare resumes, cover letters, and personal statements.
    • Research opportunities in the chemistry department: Faculty spoke briefly about their research fields. For more information on faculty research, link to faculty pages through the Faculty and Staff web site.
